In Mexico, you can find watermelon agua fresca everywhere. This drink can be made with any fruit, grain, seeds, or floral infusions you love. It is a healthy and refreshing way to start the day.

In any simple recipe the quality of the ingredients is crucial. Make sure your fruit (or other ingredient) is truly ripe and ready to eat for the best end product.

Favorite flavors in Mexico include: melon, pineapple, mango, strawberry, lime, horchata (a rice based beverage), flor de jamaica (hisbiscus), and chia seed (blended with other vegetables or fruit).

I like my agua fresca with fruity bits for the extra fiber, but if you prefer the drink can be strained before serving.
