Salsa is the most versatile of foods. There are so many varieties from sweet to spicy.  This fermented salsa starter take flavor to the next level. This recipe can be adapted to suit any taste buds.

The great thing about fermenting salsa is the development of an additional depth of flavor and, of course, the probiotic benefits. Fermenting the vegetables creates a softer texture than fresh. When I use my fermented salsa, I add fresh vegetables and fruit to the blend for texture.

Keep a jar in the fridge to make a tasty salsa in minutes. Just add chopped vegetable and/or fruit. Its always delicious and 

Fermented Salsa Starter

Ingredients

  • 3 c Your Favorite Salsa
  • 1-2 tsp Celtic Sea Salt
  • 1-2 c water

Instructions

Starter

Make your favorite salsa recipe.

Add 1-2 tsp of Celtic Sea Salt to filtered water and dissolve.

Add salsa to mason jar and cover with the salted water.

Cover the jar and let sit for 2-4 days on counter to your taste.  The starter will last for months in the fridge.

When You Are Ready To Serve

When ready to serve, add fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs to a few tablespoons of fermented salsa to taste. 

Tastes delicious and has healthy probiotics too!
