I am not a fan of bananas except in cereal and milk and frozen in my smoothies. I have, however, always loved Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey Ice Cream.  I heard that frozen bananas make a great ice cream substitute and I can finally confirm that it is true.  All you need is a frozen banana and a food processor and you have your base.

Homemade Chunky Monkey Ice Cream

  • 1 banana, frozen
  • 1 oz dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 1 oz walnuts, roughly chopped



Put banana in food processor and process until the texture resembles ice cream. 


With a spoon, blend the chopped walnuts and chocolate into the banana.
